Our Theatre Company - Footsteps


  • Footsteps is a fully professional theatre company established in 2010 by its owner Robert Forshaw. 

  • Footsteps provides a wide range of theatrical services for its clients throughout Ireland and the United Kingdom. 

  • Footsteps specializes in writing, developing, producing, directing and performing bespoke productions for Museums,Theatre in Education,  historical interpretation of visitor attractions and monuments, theatrical productions for local councils, corporate entertainment and much more.  

  • Footsteps has provided theatrical productions for Derry City Council, Fermanagh Council, Strabane District Council, Carrick On Shannon Heritage, The National Trust, Department of Environment Road Safety Service, Ards & North Down Borough Council, Donegal Museum to name but a few.



The Owner & Creative Director - Robert Forshaw


  • Robert is passionate about acting and its benefit in the future development of young people.

  • Professionally trained actor with 20 years experience, writing, producing, directing and performing a wide variety of theatrical productions.

  • A professional Playwright with his first play "Turas" performed in the Ardhowen Theatre, Enniskillen & The Dock Theatre Carrick On Shannon in 2013.

  • In 2014 Robert wrote, directed and performed in "Planters, Paupers & Rebels" a horrible histories styled production that toured the North West of Ireland.

  • In 2015 Robert wrote, directed, produced and performed in 3x productions that toured the whole of Northern Ireland for 14x weeks as part of the DOE Road Safety Service Theatre In Education programme. 

  • In 2015 Robert wrote, directed, produced and performed in "The Red Windmill" a Moulin Rouge Cabaret production that ran throughout the month of September at the Am/PM Cabaret Club Belfast.

  • A specialist in writing historical theatrical productions, murder mysteries and theatre in education performances.

  • Former chair of the International Museum Theatre Alliance for Europe, helping to develop and guide museum theatre practitioners throughout Europe.

  • Performed as a historical interpreter at Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia USA

  • Lectured at the American Alliance of Museums conference in New Orleans on "Museum Theatre and Conflict Resolution", in 2004



Our Staff


  • All our staff are professional trained performing artists. 

  • Our staff are made up of young actors, seasoned performers, musical theatre specialists, vocalists and dancers who are all currently working in the industry and have received professional training. 

  • Our staff are passionate believers in giving young people the opportunity to experience the thrill and fun of live performance.

  • Our staff are all trained in child protection and in health and safety whilst working with young people.

  • Our staff receive a CRC back ground check prior to working with the public. 

  • Our staff are recruited by Footsteps  and are put through a rigorous audition process to make sure their performances and skills are of the highest calibre.
